Screen recorder

This tool never uploads your input.

The browser asks which tab or screen to share. Stop to download WebM. Not Loom, not OBS.

Show a bug without a cloud recorder account. The file is WebM. Tabs that play DRM or protected video may capture black.

A one-off bug for a ticket, not a product demo channel. This page calls getDisplayMedia and MediaRecorder, then downloads WebM. Loom-class SaaS uploads. We do not.

Microphone-only notes are voice recorder. Trimming a file you already have is video trimmer. Narrating a script without video is text to speech.

Short how-tos, WebM

getDisplayMedia plus MediaRecorder. Output is typically WebM, not a Zoom room and not MP4. System audio depends on the share dialog. Long lectures blow memory. Gmail’s personal cap is 25 MB if you attach the file.

How to use it

  1. Allow the picker (screen / window / tab). Wrong choice is the usual blank capture.
  2. Stop when done. Download WebM.
  3. If the file is huge, trim it on the trimmer — still WebM, still local, still about 32 MB.

Honest limits

Not an editor. Not a promise of system audio on every OS. Protected video frames may be black by design.

FAQ

Which browsers work?

Chromium desktops are the happy path. Safari and some enterprise images block screen capture or pick a useless MIME.

Can I record a meeting tool?

Only if the OS picker lets you share that window and the app does not paint a black frame. We do not bypass meeting DRM.

MP4 or GIF?

WebM here. A short GIF89a is the video-to-GIF page (about 24 frames, not a studio encode).

Mic plus screen?

Depends on the browser prompt. Treat extra tracks as best-effort.

Is the recording uploaded?

No. Long sessions will hit memory or the ~32 MB product ceiling.
