ToolAtlasThe default is: the bytes stay in this tab. That is how we differ from upload-and-delete-in-an-hour PDF brands. It is also not a certificate. We do not sell HIPAA, SOC 2, or ISO 27001. If a tool must call the network, its privacy label says so before you run it.
Chinese local-processing articles (GeekFormat, FreePD, 土薯) already treat “不上传” as the expected claim. German pages (pdfzus.de, werkzeu.ge) sell the same story as DSGVO because nothing is transmitted. We match the runtime, not the slogan: open DevTools → Network while you process a file. You should not see the document leave.
What leaves the device
- Local tools (the common case): file or text is read into memory, processed, and offered as a download or copy. Closing the tab drops it.
- Network-query tools: only the fields listed on that page are sent. There is no silent “also upload the PDF.”
- Analytics: never input text, file names, or results.
This site does not create an account. There is nothing to delete on a server for a file you never sent.
What stays in this browser
Favorites, recent tools, theme, and a remembered language preference use localStorage on this device. They restore by toolId when you switch language. Use “Clear local data” in the UI if you want that gone.
File tools typically refuse work above about 32 MB. That limit is memory and honesty, not an upload quota.
