Which pair you probably want

  • PNG → JPG — photos that do not need alpha; smaller email/forms.
  • JPG → PNG — you needed a lossless container, not a miracle of detail that was never there.
  • PNG/JPG → WebP — web delivery when the CMS accepts WebP.
  • WebP → PNG/JPG — older Office, printers, and stubborn upload filters.

How to use it

  1. Drop the original still. Renaming .webp to .jpg does not convert.

  3. If the result is still huge, resize or compress.

Honest limits

  • GIF animation is flattened.
  • No PSD, RAW, or TIFF workshop.
  • No Cloudinary-style URL transforms.

To embed a still as a data URI, use image to Base64.

FAQ

Can I convert HEIC here?

Use HEIC to JPG. That page owns iPhone stills, Windows, and WhatsApp. This converter is PNG / JPEG / WebP.

What happens to PNG transparency?

JPEG has no alpha. Transparent pixels flatten onto a background when you go to JPG. Stay on PNG or WebP if you need a hole.

Will my GIF keep animating?

No. Animation is flattened to a still. We do not emit GIF89a from video either — that is a different, limited tool.

Do you encode AVIF?

Do not count on AVIF as an output here. If you need AVIF, use a tool that actually lists that encoder.

Is conversion the same as compression?

Changing to WebP or a lower-quality JPEG often shrinks the file, but the job on this page is compatibility. Use the compressor when you want to stay in JPEG/WebP and only move the quality slider.

Are brand assets uploaded?

No. Typical limit is about 32 MB per file.
