Sample workflow: drop an original .heic or .heif photo, not a renamed suffix.

Decode a real .heic or .heif from your iPhone and save a JPG in this tab. Windows, many printers, and a lot of forms still reject HEIC. Changing only the file extension does not convert the photo.

You AirDropped a vacation folder onto a Windows PC, or a form spat back “unsupported image format.” The files are probably HEIC, Apple’s High Efficiency stills, not broken JPGs.

This page converts an original .heic / .heif in the current tab. It is not a general “any format to any format” converter — that lives on image format converter. It also will not install Microsoft’s HEIF codec for you.

When you actually need a converter

  • A Windows machine shows a blank thumbnail and Photos refuses to open the file.
  • A government, school, or shop form only lists JPG/PNG.
  • WhatsApp or email is handing the raw HEIC to someone on Android.
  • You want a copy you can drop into Word or an older Photoshop without hunting codecs.

You may not need this tool: iPhone Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible saves future shots as JPEG. The share sheet’s Most Compatible option can also send a JPEG without converting the library. USB transfers set to “Automatic” may already convert on the way to a PC.

Steps

  1. Choose the original HEIC/HEIF from this device — not a screenshot of the photo, not a renamed suffix.
  2. Convert in this tab. Typical limit is about 32 MB per file.
  3. Download the JPG. For a public post, run strip EXIF if you do not want GPS or a camera serial in the file. If the JPG is still huge for a form, compress the image. Several photos that must become one packet belong on JPG to PDF.

Honest limits

  • Quality is a JPEG tradeoff, not a lossless archive.
  • Live Photo motion is not exported.
  • We do not promise “official ID photo” dimensions or print-lab color.
  • Batch size is whatever this browser can hold; there is no 200-image cloud queue.

Photos stay in the tab. That is the reason to use a browser converter instead of a random upload site — not a claim that we are the only private tool on the internet.

FAQ

Why won’t Windows open the photo from my iPhone?

Since iOS 11 the camera’s High Efficiency setting saves HEIC. Windows needs a store codec to preview it, and many websites only accept JPG or PNG. Converting a copy here is often faster than installing HEVC extensions.

I renamed .heic to .jpg and it still won’t open.

The bytes are still HEIC. This page needs the original file. After conversion you get a new JPEG you can attach or upload.

Will WhatsApp accept the result?

JPG is the compatible format. If you send the original through Files as a document, Android recipients may still see a HEIC they cannot preview. Convert first, or use the iOS share sheet set to Most Compatible.

Are Live Photos or bursts supported?

This tool converts the still image in a HEIC/HEIF file. It does not export the Live Photo video or split a burst into many frames.

Do my photos get uploaded?

No. Decoding and JPEG encoding stay in this tab. If you will post the JPG publicly, strip location data afterward — conversion can leave EXIF in place.
