A minified RSS or a SAML blob you need to read. HTML is not XML. JSON has its own page.

A minified feed or a SAML response in a log. You want indent, not a SOAP client. This page pretty-prints. It will not apply your XSD.

JSON: formatter. Generic source: code beautify. Entities inside text nodes: HTML entities.

RSS and SAML dumps

A one-line feed or a SAML blob that needs indent. Well-formedness is the gate; we do not apply XSD, call SOAP, or fetch DTDs. HTML5 is not XML. Do not resolve external entities from untrusted files.

How to use it

  1. Paste well-formed XML.
  2. Format. A missing close tag should fail loudly.
  3. Copy. Keep secrets out of the paste when you can.

Honest limits

Not a SOAP stack. Not DTD fetching. Not Excel SpreadsheetML repair.

FAQ

Will you validate against my XSD?

No. Well-formed is the bar. Schema-valid is your CI.

HTML from a site?

HTML5 is not XML. Use a dedicated HTML formatter or tidy, not this page.

XXE / file disclosure?

Do not enable external-entity resolution on untrusted XML anywhere. This tab should not fetch entities.

JSON sibling?

JSON formatter. YAML is JSON↔YAML. SOAP envelopes still start as XML here.

Is the document uploaded?

No.
