FAQ

Can I point my webcam at a live code?

If the page offers a camera control, video stays in this tab. Most people searching ‘QR scanner’ actually want the phone OS or WeChat camera — use those for a poster across the room.

Does decoding tell me if the link is safe?

No. We show the payload. A lookalike bank URL is still a lookalike. Do not enter passwords on a surprise domain.

Can you read payment or WeChat codes?

We may show the raw string. We cannot complete a WeChat or Alipay payment, and we are not those apps.

What about barcodes (UPC / EAN)?

This page is QR. To *create* 1-D codes, use the barcode generator.
